Jan`s Place in Alexandria

A very simple place with excellent food. I had the Hot Turkey Sandwich with Stuffing which was the special that day. The flavor was fantastic. Friendly people and a good atmosphere.

Been wanting to go here, worth the wait.

Alexandria is worth visiting for the Local Eateries like Jan's Place. I ordered Eggs Benedict with a pancake. Service with courtesy and hot food right on time along with a Hometown-Homemade taste that Perkins will never match. Keep it up Jan and Crew!You guys make Alex Great!I was up there for the Lake Geneva Bible Retreat.

Good food, very friendly staff.The gravy (biscuits and gravy) was tasteless. Needs more sausage flavor added.Overall though it was good, I will be going back.

Loved it! A really nice small town hole in the wall breakfast place with amazing food and service. Jan was helping us and she was awesome. The pancakes were huge and delicious. The price and portion were amazing. Make sure to check out the random signage around the place, they are hilarious and a lot of fun to read. Glad we stopped by and would definitely go back the next time we're in town.

Best coffee in town!! The service is always fast and friendly. The food is great as well. Awesome menu, affordable prices and a real hometown feel. I love this place! Just wish they were open longer.

Great home style cooking with great customer service! We're definitely going back. The biscuits and gravy were AWESOME and I don't typically like that dish!

I really liked Jan's place. They give out plenty of food for the amount of money you pay. I went on a Sunday morning and I really liked it. My wife was a little upset in that she really wanted a cheeseburger and fries. But on the weekends they only serve breakfast foods. There are other diners in Alexandria that will serve both breakfast and lunch all week long.

I was just passing through and spotted Jan’s Place on the side of the road. I was hoping for a descent meal, turned out to be the best meal I’ve had in quite some time! I think she called what I ate a hot beef sandwich, with mashed potatoes and corn. Do yourself a favor, eat here!! I can only imagine how great their breakfast is, if I am ever in this area again, I hope to find out for myself!Thank you for keeping us truckers fat Jan!

Good food, fast and friendly service

Classic mom and pop diner. Local hangout with typical food. Not for lighter fare. Food is decent and staff friendly

The food is amazing!! The staff accommodated a group of 6 of us in no time, and I can't think of a better breakfast I've had. Try the omelettes and pancakes!

Service was great, food was good but portion size could have been better. Price was reasonable.

Nothing to rave about. Their prices are incredibly affordable. The coffee is a must, delicious flavor, hot and your cup never runs dry. Service is EXCELLENT, with the wait staff running around and various people checking up on you.The food quality is why I marked to 3 stars. I ordered biscuits and gravy. The food was incredibly bland, but maybe that's what the locals enjoy. The quality of the biscuit was lackluster as well. I also thought I had an excess of gravy without enough sausage in it. The biscuit was also cold as if it had come out of the fridge.Overall, an ok place. I'd go back for the hot coffee.
